Question about English (US)

I’m writing an email and have a question.
I use “the customer” as a subject in the first sentence.
I want to use “the customer” as a subject in the second sentence, but it sounds awkward when the same word is used as a subject in 2 consecutive sentences.
How do you say “the customer” in the second sentence?
