Question about English (UK)
Could someone check any grammar or spelling mistakes in this essay I wrote? Thank you :3
The past is very important for young people. It can be an interesting resource of knowledge and it can also be useful for the understanding of the present and the future. Nowadays, teenagers don't actually understand the relevance of the past. Everything our ancestors have done has involved changes in the social structures of the world and has contributed in building what we are today and the basis of our daily life. But it's up to us to make their decisions worthwhile and to learn something by their teachings.
However, technology has always been an obstacle. Of course, it is as important as water today. Everything we use is filled with technology: our mobiles, our houses, the entire city we live in. But it can also bring despair and enmity among people. It's so frustrating to see a group of friends in a café with their mobiles in their hands. It impedes communication and discussions. It is of the utmost importance to understand the fact that it is essential to talk, confront ourselves with others and with people that can teach us something, like our grandparents and older people.
I think that the past is essential in life, because thanks to it we can learn our history and everything that distinguishes each and everyone of us. Sometimes we could also put away our mobiles, go to our grandparents home and just talk to them, asking them stories of their past, in order to understand our present and plan a better future. does this sound natural?
