@PaulaRubio0 The way we pronounce R kind of sounds like the word "are". I honestly can't think of any exceptions, but I hope if someone else knows some that they can tell you.

There are no common exceptions but certain dialects or accents have soft rs or often don’t pronounce their rs (just like in British English). This is typically true of the East Coast and especially the Northern part of it (like Boston and New York). This also happens in some places in the southeast.
So make sure you are listening to a standard US English version of the word “are” or you may not hear the r sound.
