Question about English (US)

I have a question.
When I pick up my daughter, her teacher checks that student's mother comes and then let the student go out. And one day one of student's mother hadn't arrived and I told the teacher that 'I can take care of her until her mother comes.' Is it a correct sentence? And is it okay if I say 'I can keep her until her mother comes.'? Or is there a better sentence?
