Question about English (US)

Can you use "crack up" in a sense of revealing a secret like "spill the beans".
For example, that cop asked him a lot of provoking questions until he cracked up.
Does that sound natural or weird?
Maybe there're other idioms for that meaning. Please, share your opinion
