I would take the "travel to" part out. The sentence sounds like you will be traveling for a month, but really you'd only travel for like 13 hours or something and then staying there for a month.
"I'm going to America for a month. Do you want to join me?"
"I'm taking a vacation in America for a month. Do you want to join me?"
