Question about English (US)

What's the difference between 'will' and 'would'? Schools in Korea teach students that 'would' is a past tense of 'will' but I barely heard natives use 'will'. I think they just use 'would' even when they're talking about present or future will. I feel like will isn't a present tense of would anymore😂
