Question about English (UK)

Does this sound natural?

-> I suggest there be a person guarding the main door at all times for as long as we stay here.

Is “there be” correct?Does it sound too fancy or formal? Would it be common to say it like that? I'm trying to get the hang of the English subjunctive.
