It has the same meaning in most cases. If you really wanna analyse the differences though, I think indifference is a choice unlike apatheic, where you don't have a choice.
What I mean is, a person could react to a situation by not caring about it and being aloof. That's a choice that the person takes. On the other hand, apatheic people are unable to feel those emotions I guess. They don't have a choice in the first place. (These words can also be used as synonyms though.)
