Question about English (US)

take medicine / take a medicine/ take some medicine / take two medicines

take medicine
take some medicine
take two medicines

as far as I know up above three are correct
but what about 'take a medicine'??

take two medicines for example could be used, to refer how many medicines the patient takes to ease one's symtoms.

does that mean 'take a medicine' also can be right?
