A little unnatural
"The weather is rainy today, so I have to make sure a customer's parcel doesn't get wet when I carry it from my van to his or her office." This flows better, I think. (you could also say, "It's a rainy day today, so I have to make sure a customer's parcel doesn't get wet when I carry it from my van to his or her office.")
