@QLiu haha I see! so to be funny He asked 'are you looking for this?' and they said no so he replied 'why though?' as in asking why they werent looking for the doll.
Its sort of difficult because its comedy! It still functions as asking 'why'! theres really no difference between the two :D

no difference. Why though? is usually used if you don't understand something even after it is explained and you would like more information.
Person A: You can't do that.
Person B: Why?
Person A: Because it is bad for you.
Person B: Why though?
