@cutefox it's not bad. However, if your professor is native English, they will find this email quite wordy and not appropriately structured.
Try this better:
I usually have work on Monday, and in our last meeting, I said yes because I didn't get the schedule/shift, and that's very unusual.
I don't understand what are you trying to explain to your professor. However, I get that this is a very academic-related topic, so try to be as concise and straightforward as possible next time. Repeated words in such short sentences are not recommended.
