The second one is right, but I honestly can't explain why. . . Like you said, the first one just feels like it's lacking something.

@mallwave: I have edited my question, because this time I think the first one can make some sense actually.
Dude, how about the first one? 'To do sth' can work as an adverbial of purpose, and that's it.
→I have some ornaments (which are) to decorate the house.

@mallwave: The second one is here:
→have sth to decorate the house with
It may be due to this structure.
I have some work to do.
(do→transitive verb)
I have a place to live in.
(live in→transitive phrase)
So,
→I have some ornaments to decorate the house with.
(decorate the house with→transitive phrase)

@Ignitio60286076 The first one does make sense, but the second one still sounds more natural. Don't get me wrong, the first one still sounds pretty natural but my mind just keeps putting "with" at the end whenever I read it.

@mallwave: Thus I think both of them can work. Can you spend some time on my notes lol and check my views? Thank you!
- Simplified Chinese (China)
@mallwave: Oh. So you think both are OK, but the second can be better. Am I right now, teacher? lol
- English (US)
@Ignitio60286076 Ok yeah, that one makes complete sense.
If I were to change something in "I have some ornaments to decorate my house." to make it sound more natural, I'd probably say "I have some ornaments I'll use to decorate my house."

@Ignitio60286076 Yeah, you got it! Excellent work student, an A+ for you
- Simplified Chinese (China)
@mallwave: Oh teacher, I am completely clear about this question.
I wonder how you deal with these minor details in everyday speech. Now that they both can work, I'm not worried then! lol

@mallwave: A plus for my teacher, Mr. Crocodile! (because of your profile picture)

@Ignitio60286076 You're gonna surpass my English skills soon enough. If you asked me to give an example of a transitive phrase, I couldn't because I have no idea what that is lol
You're doing wonderfully! :+)

@mallwave: This just makes me suspicious of myself lol. Yeah, tbh, I created it myself just now. Like the transitive verb, we add a prep. (in,etc.) after an intransitive verb (live, etc) so that we can put an object after it. I just named this a transitive phrase!
