Question about English (US)
Hello guys
I am confused
What's the difference between"pull up" and "Look up"?
I understand that pull up something is more like opening something (on a screen) to look at, so it is a previous action?
I will be really thankful if you could give me some examples

One way of differentiating the two is that you “pull up” with your hands. (“I pulled up my pants. “ I did some pull-ups in the gym”. Figuratively: “He pulled himself up from nothing to become rich and famous “). On the others hand, you “look up” with your eyes. (“I looked up and saw the airplane.” “I looked the word up in the dictionary “. In the sentence you cited, you are right, it means to make something appear on the screen, using your fingers to keyboard a request of some type. (“I pulled up the list of students in my class”). You could also say “look up” here, but the emphasis would be more on the idea of “researching”. With “pull up” the emphasis is on the physical action. Just a nuance. Hope this helps.

“Pull up” could mean to bring up a website, picture, or something else. “Look up” means to research something, like google a question.
examples - “can you look up how to fix this?” “I’ll pull up the pictures to show you.”
