A mí personalmente no me ofende, y no creo que a nadie que yo conozca le ofenda, pero aquí en España nunca usamos la palabra "hispano" para llamar a una persona de España, aunque hay casos especiales.
Por ejemplo, a un habitante de la Hispania clásica (la península Ibérica en época del Imperio Romano, que hoy en día son España y Portugal), sí se le llamaría hispano. Tienes un ejemplo en la película Gladiator, donde al protagonista lo llaman Hispano.
Sin embargo, tanto "hispano" como "hispánico" sí se usan actualmente para describir cosas relacionadas con España (música, arte, moda, etc).
Creo que la situación es distinta en los Estados Unidos, donde la palabra "hispano" puede tener una connotación racial, y su uso es más delicado.

@manoferu así que, soy originalmente de Filipinas y aún tenemos costumbres españolas, ¿puedes decir que lo que hacemos es todo lo español ?

@polyglott33 No conozco la situación actual en Filipinas, pero yo usaría las palabras "español" e "hispánico" para hablar del origen de las costumbres Filipinas heredadas de España.
Es decir, creo que se puede decir "costumbres de origen hispano", "costumbres de origen hispánico" y "costumbres de origen español" correctamente, no creo que resulte ofensivo en absoluto.
Es posible que un experto en historia haga distinciones, pero para mí todas esas expresiones son correctas y significan lo mismo.
