I don't why exactly, but it doesn't sound as natural. Most native speakers wouldn't say "I came across your teacher", or say "My parents didn't bring me up." I'm sorry, I don't have an actual explanation, that would explain the word choices using English grammar rules.

@HDGD I really don't know, how to explain it. It is not very common for someone to say "came across this wallet", in comparison to "found this wallet". It just makes more sense
