Question about English (US)
"he will work up if you keep pissing her off."
"I got worked up because he was making noises while eating."
"I will work up eventually the courage to ask her out."
"he came across a bit of an assholes to us."
'he came across pretty laid back to us."
"hopefully he comes across laid back to us."
"if the manager comes across pretty asshole then I'll quit."
(does this sound natural?)

@borcpp is it always with AS in "work up"
like this
"if the manager comes across AS an asshole, then I'll quit."
also is saying "A BIT OF AN ASSHOLE" natural and common to say?

I don’t understand what you mean.
"A BIT OF AN ASSHOLE" is natural and common, but if you don’t want to use a cuss word, you can use “a bit of a jerk”.

@borcpp what I meant is if I can write it like this.
"if the manager comes across an asshole, then I'll quit."
see with no AS
"if the manager comes across an asshole, then I'll quit."
see with no AS

No, “comes across an asshole” means if the manager met an asshole.
