They can often be interchanged, especially when used metaphorically. There is a slight difference:
Stuck = immobilized; adhering to (something)
Trapped = forcibly confined; prevented from escape
Examples:
The toilet paper stuck to my shoe.
The mouse was stuck in the glue trap.
I was stuck on a difficult math problem I didn't know how to solve.
I was trapped behind piles of rubble after the earthquake.
The mouse was trapped in the maze.
I felt trapped in a bad relationship because my girlfriend threatened suicide if I left.

It's the past tense of "catch". Here's some examples of common uses:
You can catch an infectious disease:
I caught a cold.
I caught the flu.
I caught a cough.
You can catch something tossed or falling:
I caught the ball.
I caught the cat when it fell from the balcony.
You can catch someone doing something bad:
I was caught in a lie.
I caught my friend cheating with my girlfriend.
I caught my mom eating my cookies.
I caught the thief.
You can catch an error or abnormality:
I caught the mistake in my essay before giving it to my professor.
I caught the slight change in his expression when he talked about his son.
You can catch an animal (you can also "catch" an animal in a "trap"):
I caught a fish with a fishing rod.
I caught some lobsters in the trap.
A bear was caught in a trap.
You can also "catch up to" something or someone:
With a lot of extra studying, my son caught up to the rest of his classmates' grades.
The police caught up to the criminal and tackled him.
The cheetah very quickly caught up to the gazelle.
I am all caught up on the latest episodes of my favourite show.

I don't understand your sentence.
A rope cannot be stuck "in" stone. Stones are formed naturally, and a rope can't be inside of a stone.
A rope can be stuck "under" a stone, or "to" a stone with glue.
A rope can also be "tied to" a stone.

can I use both Stuck and Trapped in this sentence?
- English (US)
- English (UK)
@ivanfernandes2018
Yes, you can say a rope got stuck/trapped under a stone.
I might instead say a rock or a "large" stone. In my mind a "stone" is a bit too small to trap a rope.
Also, I was thinking, you might stick a rope "in" stone if you're mountain climbing! Although it would be technically the metal hitch and not the rope itself.
