Question about English (US)
Hi guys!
What languages are you trying to learn and how are you studying them?
I'm working to improve my English and just started to learn German. I also learned Chinese few years ago.
I watch kid-friendly tv shows like Peppa Pig, Caillou, Winnie the Pooh etc.
Please feel free to share your tips and stories🙂

@SarahM96 I'm learning Korean and one thing I enjoy is commenting on things in Korean. Like I follow a few Korean people on Instagram whose content I like (and is accessible to people who aren't fluent in Korean), so I can comment on their posts in Korean to practice.
You can do that on Youtube as well!
(Not sure what level you are so this may be better for non-beginners)
Generally I get positive and helpful replies if I say I am still learning Korean, and ask for corrections in my original comment. That probably works best on Youtube
Writing comments helps you practice saying your actual thoughts in Korean about a variety of things, and then if you get replies you need to understand those!
You can also try talking to yourself in Korean. Even just thinking of the right word for an object or verb and inserting it into a sentence in English can help with vocabulary
And you can make basically any kind of content and post it on HelloTalk! I post about food sometimes, or my practice sentences I made while studying. People are very helpful on there.
Also don't be afraid to post questions here or on Reddit instead of thinking "I'll understand it later." I have done that in the past lol
You can also find stories (fiction, news, etc.) on the Beelinguapp. I tried a new thing recently where I copy the story in Korean into my notebook one paragraph at a time, then highlight the words and grammar I don't know and look everything up. Then I make flashcards and write the translation of the sentences into English using my own words. This requires me to think about and remember all the words and grammar I learned, and it's kind of fun! I have learned useful grammar from this and it expands your vocabulary in subjects you are interested in
Korean is a very very challenging language to study, especially if you are studying by yourself. So don't be too discouraged! 힘내세요!
We can do this!
Even if our progress is or feels slow, it's okay! That's MUCH better than not learning another language at all!

@Meare7 My sisters sometimes speak to each other in German and then translate it to Korean for me, but I want to understand what they are saying right away.

@us_uk 완전 꿀팁이네요. I will definitely try commenting. I can see that you are working really hard to improve your Korean. 앞으로도 화이팅!

@SarahM96 I know it's quite challenging😭 My suggestion is to focus on vocabulary rather than grammar and sentence structures. It is pretty understandable even if you don't follow up the grammar rules and sentence structures. Pronunciation and intonation are also important elements for clear understanding so I would spend time working on them if I were a Korean learner.

That's what I do to study German.. I watch German videos on YouTube and write on my journal every day (referring to the question you answered yesterday). I'm not studying too much so my progress is not so fast.
