I assume with regards to pregnancy?
To abort (or to terminate) is to intentionally have the pregnancy stopped.
To miscarry is when you lose the baby for other reasons (mostly medical)

Miscarry is a natural situation, a spontaneous loss of a fetus by your body. Not surgically done.
Abort is to have a surgical procedure to terminate a pregnancy.
