Yes. It’s more common to say, “I don’t know anything,” but “I know nothing” is also correct.

Yes.
If someone ask you a question about someone else or something not about you and you don't want to answer, you can say this.
For example, your friend's boyfriend comes to you and asks,
"Is (friend) mad at me? She won't reply to my messages."
You can reply,
"I know nothing."
This means, "I know the answer but I don't want to tell you."
Maybe you think it will effect their relationship.
