What is the difference between if someone has gotten hurt.
could I say either: If he had worn the gears he wouldn't get hurt and If he had had worn the gears he wouldn't get hurt. ?Feel free to just provide example sentences.

If he had worn protective gear he wouldn't have gotten hurt
= he did not wear a helmet and he got hurt and regrets it because it was preventable.

"If he had had worn..." is incorrect.
You say "if he had had" only if you would say "had" without "if he had"
Example:
"...had it in his hand."
"If he had had it in his hand."
For your sentence, you say "If he had worn the gear he wouldn't get hurt."
