No it doesn’t. That’s not any kind of aphorism I know of. It also doesn’t make any sense grammatically. Maybe you misheard it? What movie was it and what part? I’ll try and check it out.

Oh… In that context it makes so much more sense. The girl is basically saying she now has a feeling: like a pull. You can imagine it as a guiding instinct. Or a feeling like you have to do something even if you don’t know why.
“The feeling now was a pull” doesn’t make much sense until you add “like I was on a leash and being told how to do…” it’s a tricky simplification of words if that makes any sense. Maybe it makes more sense if it was worded as “I had a mysterious and sudden urge to…” or something along those lines.
