Question about English (US)
When do you say"I be" instead of "I am"?
I know the case that "will" or something like that are there before "be".
And also I know"I've been"and"I been".
But I don't know when I can say "I be".

The subjunctive is only used in certain cases and here’s a link explaining when to use it. “I be” can only be used in the subjunctive mood.

I do not think you can say I be.
You can use "I will be...."
"I may be..."
Same with "I been" I am not sure you can use that. It should be "I have been..."

@Murraymoody
thank you!
But I saw "I be" in some music or something like that.
I didn't search it means,so I forgot the music tittles. I'm sorry.
And I heard that "I been"is African American Vernacular English.
It's used instead of "I've been".
I'm not gonna use it but the reason why I said it is I was guessing how the answers come like"Isn't it I been?".
Anyway, it seems like I won't use it in normal conversation.
Thank you!

oh!!! thank you!!
is the sentence use it instead of "I am"?
Or "I be" is only correct in sentences like that?
In my thought, When the subjunctive says about past, it will be "I was"
and in future It'll be"I will be".
so when the subjunctive doesn't care about tence, It's"I be".
Is this correct?
If my English don't work well, I'm sorry;;

@ringo16 The subjunctive is difficult at first but after a while you’ll get it 👍🏼

@ringo16 Right, using “I be” in the way you probably heard, it’s slang, which is very casual and isn’t proper english. Unless it’s like the other comments, with the subjunctive, it would be slang.
