that's a funny question to ask someone. better question (if someone had just come home from shopping) would be.. "how DID IT GO? ".
anyway, the answers could be:

-great, I got everything i needed
- not so good. I couldn't find what i needed.

@emtrivoli is not someone I need is the cashier so why would the cashier say how did it go? that's odd

OH - ok. I didn't not have any context. usually our cashiers ask the question: "did you find everything you were looking for". Not.. 'how was your shopping'.
so the answers could be:
Yes, I did, or...,
No I didn't find ___________.

you could say LAST FRIDAY, or ON FRIDAY. either one.
either way, they know it's in the PAST because you're saying ATE (past tense).
but to say you ate UNHEALTHY, that's not correct. Unhealthy is an adjective.
(example: unhealthy food)
to be correct, you would need to say I ate UNHEALTHFULLY (adverb, to modify the verb EAT).
but! no one says that.... !
my suggestion: you can say: I ate SO BADLY, or SO POORLY last Friday.
that is easier. (and - badly and poorly are ADVERBS, to modify the verb TO EAT).
