Question about English (US)
Planet of the Apes is a famous movie starring Charlton Heston.
What's the difference in nuance between "Planet of the Apes" and "Planet of monkeys"? Why is capital letter Apes not small letter apes? Doesn't the Apes have a connotation of just monkeys but intelligently advanced monkeys? đ€

âPlanet of the Apesâ is the title of the movie. There are specific rules for the capitalization of titles.

@bsloan7 Thanks a lot as always. I understand why it's capitalized. So can you be a bit more specific about what it suggests by using "Apes" instead of "monkeys"? đ€·

@nomadatlatl I mean Iâm not 100% sure because I didnât create the movie nor am I a fan of it, but I think the word choice (apes vs. monkeys) probably has to do with what you were saying about apes being more intelligent than regular monkeys. âApesâ is also more accurate because apparently apes donât have tails, whereas most monkeys do. And lastly, âPlanet of the Apesâ just sounds better. âPlanet of the Monkeysâ wouldnât have the same ring to it.

@bsloan7 Yes, you're telling me! I got it. "Planet of the Monkeys" would possibly sound like a slapstick comedy movie, lol. I appreciate having a great teacher like you!!
