@handsomeish Sounds good! Although if you want to make it sound slightly more natural, you could rephrase it as:
"Despite some difficulties, he finally made it."
Sounds completely fine either way though. :)

@handsomeish Not always, it depends on the context. But in most situations it can be moved to the beginning of a sentence to help it sound more natural - especially in longer sentences.
