You wouldn't say "wegen/aufgrund des Streits zwischen mir und ihm", so I choose "wegen unseres Streits". You could say "wegen unseres gestrigen Streits" but this does not sound casual.
The construction "we used to do sth" "Wir pflegten etwas zu tun" exists in German but would not be used in this sentence - so I just omitted it. "Für Stunden" (for hours) is grammatical possible but it is not said, therefore: stundenlang.
