Question about English (US)
How would you translate 今さら何言ってるの? in English?
Situation: My parents are already over 50 years old. They already have me, who is a 17 year-old girl, but they suddenly said "We are thinking of having an orphan as our child. " So I said,"今さら何言ってるの?” The best translation I could come up with is 'It's too late', but it sounds like I was too late to arrive at a school so the teacher didn't allow me to attend the class, or I was too late so I missed a train. Could you tell me a better translation? Thank you.
BTW, this story is not true.

You could say, "Why are you saying/thinking this NOW?"
"You're saying/thinking this NOW?"
Emphasizing 'now' shows that now is too late.
