That depends, Spanish and Portuguese are similar in some things but not completely, anyway we can understand some Spanish words but not totally.

No, all brazilians don't speak spanish! A spanish tourist can come here in Brazil, we can understand, but with problems comunications.

My wife study spanish. Sometings are similar, but 90% are diferent! Some words, gramatics, verbs... are diferents! But a tourist can come here!

@Alisha1 In a way it's true, both languages are of Latins origin, if a Spanish speaker talks slowly we can understand some parts of what is saying but certainly not everything.
I don't know if I was clear, my English is rusty now hahaha.

Well, actually, no. Not knowing that country's language is quite rude you know? And we can understand just a little parcel of the language, because spanish goes on a very different way, i recommend you to, at least, learn some basic phrases and words in portuguese before coming to Brazil.

Not really, the words are similar but the meaning are different, and it's not every brazilian that speak spanish

@Alisha1 Actually, this is a kind of Portuguese "Creole" spoken in some regions of Rio Grande do Sul (state of Southern Brazil) and Rivera (Northern Uruguay)

yeah, we are understand but I've afraid you won't. the brazilian guys will speak to you the "Portunhol" but the languages are similar
