se vc é super iniciante pode baixar Duolingo e ao mesmo tempo passar a consumir mais material em inglês (música, série, tirinhas etc). palavra solta ñ tem significado né? O contexto faz o sentido. afinal, vc seria capaz de dizer o que o que é "manga"? Não, depende do contexto

Você pode escolher por frases ou palavras. Por frases acho melhor pq vc poderá entender todo o sentido dela ao invés de palavras soltas.
