To look up means to check information, I looked up the word in the dictionary. To look for is the same as to search, but less formal, I look for my keys every morning. To seek is a long, maybe difficult search, I seek the answer to life's big questions. Search is general, we use it especially with the internet, I searched the internet for answers.
