As previously said, I would say "hur är läget" is more informal and like the english expression "what's up".
"Hur mår du?" in Sweden can sometimes be more of a question of "are you okay?". Of course it depends on tonefall and "hur mår du" is also okay to say as a greeting, just worth a notice, native swedish rarely use this as a greeting.

@Paraguayan12man I don't think we have any "standard" greeting. But I think "hur är läget?" or "hur är det?" = "how is it (Going)? also are more common phrases.
