Question about English (UK)

‎I heard that the hydrangea was at their best now in Zenkouji temple in Date city so we visited there today.

There were various color hydrangea which were in full bloom in the precincts of the temple and they were amazing. This was my first time to see such a lot of various color hydrangea at a one place at a time. This temple is famous for its cherry blossoms but I knew its also a good sight to see hydrangea.

By the way, the Zenkoji temple is said that the oldest temple in Hokkaido.

As for my daughter, she was attracted by insects more than the flowers. She was happy to find the cicada shells. Oh, well...😂
Does this sound natural?
