inform tell and notify are all the same in meaning. Notify and inform are more formal. tell is informal.

Inform and tell are the same. Notify can signify that someone is waiting for a response. Inform and tell does not imply someone waiting.

Inform is more educational & business, sometimes medical, formal; tell is most commonly used between everyone; and notify is where someone is informed/told of an occurrence (inform with information, tell with story, notify with notifications, if those help)
