Rude is used to describe a person's (negative or offensive) behavior. Unpleasant is generally used to describe one's feeling or how someone or something makes him feel.

Unpleasant is not pleasant or enjoyable. It causes you discomfort. For example, “There was an unpleasant smell in the basement.” Rude is not being polite or not showing concern or respect for the rights and feelings of other people. For example, “I can’t believe that he was so rude to me.”
