→「母はもう車にチェーンを付けてあるので、少し安心した。」
「から」は、話し手の主観的・感情的な理由を述べる場合に用いられることが多いです。
例: これはあまり好きじゃないから、食べたくない。
「ので」は、客観的・具体的な理由を述べる場合に用いられることが多いです。
例: これは消費期限が切れているので、食べたくない。
また、「ので」は、表現を丁寧にするために用いられることがあります。
例: これはあまり好きではないので、食べたくありません。

「付けて」は「着けて」のほうがいいかもしれません。
「着けてあることを知って、少し安心した」
もしくは
「着けてあるから、少し安心している」
