There's the Manbukokagakusho, which is a scholarship provided by the Japanese government.

There are American/English speaking high schools and colleges in Japan that you can attend if you want to attend a Japanese school but do not fully understand the language. Otherwise, attending a school in Japan is like attending any other school (E.G., you usually need to take and pass an entrance exam, have proof of income, etc.)
