I feel sick usually has to mean that you're feeling ill, I feel bad can be used more broadly when you just don't feel good about something but you're not necessarily ill. I can tell someone they're a butthead and then later say I feel bad, and that doesn't mean I feel ill it just means I regret what I said. Thus I don't feel very good about it. Saying I feel sick in that situation is a little strong
