Question about English (US)
I was taught that English always needs subjects such as “I” and “you”, but a lot of sentences like posted on SNS don’t have ones. When do you omit them? Do you omit them while talking in person?

We only omit them in very informal circumstances when it’s clear who the subject is. It’s not really considered proper English.
-You coming to the party?
-yeah, be there in 10
(Are you coming to the party? Yeah, I’ll be there in 10 minutes)
-Hope you get better soon!

@akatmi every proper sentence has to have a subject, you are confused because you were taught "I, you, he/she/it, we, and they. In general conversations even if you don't see these words in the exact form you were taught me there is always a subject that falls under the above classes. ex: My mom prepared my meals. subject mom-she
did Jake finish the assignment? subject Jake-he
You guys really need to watch that movie.
subject: they
