Aus dem Rhythmus geraten. (To lose your rhythm.) Not necessarily in a musical context.
Wir sollten heute ein Gedicht im Unterricht aufsagen. Obwohl ich fleißig geübt habe, bekam ich nur eine 6. Denn, nachdem Alex angefangen hatte zu kichern, habe ich den Tritt verloren. (We had to recite a poem in school. Even though I studied hard, I only got a 6 (worst mark in Germany). Because, at the moment Alex started snickering, I lost my flow.)
