Question about English (US)

Hello, a question to North American English speakers!

where is the stress (pronunciation) in the following phrases?

a. put it on
b. head it in

Is the stress on both "put" and "on" or only on put?

I personally think the stress goes on both words (though it may vary depending on the context), and I wanted to check if I'm right.

Thanks for your help! 😉
