Question about English (UK)

can you check it? and, please, correct any mistakes.

During my first week at PWSZ I was quite terrified. It was very stressful time although there were some advantages which made me excited.
First of all, I was lonely at the very beginning because I did not know anyone. Fortunately, on the first lecture, I met a girl and we have a good contact til today. I was very glad since it lowered my stress a bit.
Secondly, I was afraid of all those upcoming presentations and I knen I would have to learn a lot and spend my spare time on doing exercises instead of other, much more interesting things.
There was also a bright side of going to college. I am making new friends now and I have an awareness that I am following my dreams hence it is good for me and my future.
To sum up, the first week at PWSZ was stresfull and hard but I dealt with it and now I am enjoying every day I spent here and I am happy I can learn at this very college.
