Question about English (US)

Classic? Classical?
I've learned "classical" is used to mean " Of or relating to the ancient Greeks and Romans, especially their art, architecture, and literature."
But "classic" is used in the following sentence: The result was cery different version of the classic play.
Here, the classic play is Hamlet.
I'm confused. Please explain to me!
