Question about English (UK)
I collect examples of slang usage from different sources. Could you please recommend me some books with the abundance of British slang? I've found Sue Townsend's 'The Queen and I' quite interesting. Also, 'The Commitments' by Roddy Doyle is good, but it contains mostly Irish slang. Thank you!

Terry Prachett's Discworld books and the Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy are good, not exactly slang but contain the stereotypical British humour. It probably depends on which regional slang you are interested in, i.e cockney, yorkshire, etc..
Wurthering Heights, has parts written in old yorkshire a bit hard to understand also dracula
This contains some yorkshire ones, http://www.bbc.co.uk/northyorkshire/voices2005/...
