Can you provide more information or examples of what you mean?
Other means anything that is not the thing you’re referring to. It can be used for people, places, or things.
Example:
- Is that your friend over there with the blonde hair?
-No, it’s the other one with the green jacket.
Example:
-what do you want for dinner?
- We have eaten pizza for five days straight. I want to eat anything other than pizza!

@rainbowbow okay.
i don’t know what the difference between “other’s idea” and “other idea”
When I asked another native about it, she said,
Other idea means different idea,and other’s idea means other people’s idea.
But another native dosen’t understand “other’s idea”.

@MandieCortie I see.do you think “other” itself means person? Or other person is correct?
- English (US)
Yes, the first person was right.
“it was another’s idea” means someone else’s idea. Anytime you use the “ ‘s ” it means it belongs to someone.
The “other idea” just means a different idea.
