They are same. Present tense and simple present tense are same
eg
I eat chicken
She does her homework

When someone says "present tense" he usually means "present simple tense", so they are the same thing.
But sometimes someone says "present tense" because he means any of the present tenses, it doesn't matter which one - present simple, present continuous, present perfect, present perfect continuous - they are all present tense.
