what is university like? I considered going back to China to study university (physics) but my parents think I probably won't be able to understand the classes. I often do not recognize words HSK 5 or 6, but I can understand pretty much anything below that. however I don't know many technical Chinese terms since I usually only use Chinese at home with my parents. do you think I could've made it to a good university (assuming my marks good enough)?

If you really wanna learn something( physics),the"level"(I am not sure it's a proper word or not)of the university matters.And I don't know how physics in China university.I hope I made it clearly,helpful or not.just terrible English.

我也第一次听说HSK，看了一下六级的试题，好难啊！
我觉得你可以试一下阅读物理专业的课本看看能够读懂多少。如果读懂了专业词汇，加上你日常的中文基础，本科阶段学习起来应该不会有太大问题。同时也要看你报读的是什么大学，一些比较好的大学对学习的要求比较严格。
