Question about English (US)

Dear Jon
I’ve just got your letter and think I can help you.
Hello! You cannot even imagine how glad I am to receive a letter from you! At first, it was a big surprise for me when I heard that somebody has sent me a letter. And when I saw that letter from you, my mood immediately changed. I’m so glad to help you.
I know, it is difficult to argue with parents about what university you want to study at, and you need to choose carefully, because your future life depends on it. That’s what I think: First of all, your parents know much more about this world than you and me, so you should listen to them. But if their suggestion is not suitable for you at all, try to talk to them. Talk about advantages of that university, tell them how hard you want to go there, tell them that is your dream to learn there. Talk about your plans and goals in the future, about how that university will help you to reach that goals. Just be kind to them, I know they love you, so they will understand your choice.
I hope this letter will help you a bit, because it’s hard to help like this. Good luck, everything will be ok soon. Waiting for your call when you receive this letter.
Best wishes, Denis.
